About Us
Joy of the Lord Missions is a Christian organization established in 2013. It is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. Our organization's focus is to provide essential resources such as food, clothing, shelter, education and medical guidance where it is most needed.
We believe in offering every individual the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. An encouraging word and a small act of kindness goes a long way. Our team is made up of passionate volunteers who are committed to making this a reality. We invite you to partner with us in our efforts to bring hope and joy to those who need it most.
How it all began...

As a child growing up, with 6 siblings in a small village in Ghana, life was very difficult. One of the saddest things for me is a hungry child because I know what that feels like. Growing up, we never ate to be full – our stomachs were always empty. My heart was empty too. I had no hope. One day when I was contemplating ending it all, I heard a voice saying: ”You are precious to me”. I had no idea where it was from at the time, but I heard it clearly.
Some time later some missionaries came to Nkorenza, Ghana. These missionaries gathered and fed all the children in the local area. In addition to sharing food with us, they shared a message of hope and joy that we can have in Jesus. That day I prayed and accepted Jesus into my heart. I also made a commitment in my heart that one day I would do something similar for children who experienced need in the way I had. My prayer from that day on was for God to give me the chance to help in some way.
Many years later after moving to Canada, I had a dream where I saw thousands of children who were hungry and thirsty and I was feeding them. I believe this was a reminder of the commitment I made to God many years earlier when I was a little girl. This reignited that desire in my heart once again and a short while later I was able to establish Joy of the Lord Missions.
I firmly believe that life is not meant to just live for yourself. What I went through was not an accident. God had a plan. Growing up in poverty and experiencing a difficult childhood was part of God’s plan – so that when I came out of it, I would be in a position to help others who shared similar experiences.
Love without action is not love, so I just started.. From small beginnings, feeding around 50 children and sharing God's word, we have grown exponentially to the point where we were able to feed well over 5000 children in our 2024 event!
Every year, I share my story to give each child and others in need a message of hope. and to let them know there is light at the end of the tunnel. My sincerest desire is that each child I come in contact with will also realize that their life is precious too! It all started with one small meal and a message for me. Who knows which person God will use next...
